Our Mission
Every good bodega has a story, and ours starts with one very spoiled boy - Bruce. This is why we exist, what we stand for, and where every dollar goes.
Why We Exist
We're on a mission to be the corner store for pet parents who want the good stuff - the treats that don't have mystery ingredients, the toys that survive more than one afternoon, the gear that actually fits. We dig through the noise, so you don't have to, hand-picking the best in apparel, treats, toys, grooming, training, and travel from brands we'd trust with our own cat (and dog).
Here's the not-so-fun part: tens of thousands fewer dogs and cats were killed in shelters last year compared to the year before, which is real progress - but roughly three-quarters of a million dogs and cats still didn't make it out alive in 2025.
The U.S. spends over $2 billion a year in tax dollars just to keep shelters running, and most rescues are stretched thin trying to fill the gaps that funding doesn't cover - the vet bills, the foster support, the spay/neuter programs that prevent overcrowding in the first place. Awareness and donations aren't a nice-to-have here. They're the difference between a shelter that can say yes to one more animal, and one that can't.
That squeaky toy you bought? It just helped fund a rescue's vet bills. That new leash? It might've covered a week of shelter meals.

Show Up
If you've got a few hours to spare, your local shelter would probably love to see you - walking dogs, socializing cats, or just folding a very large pile of laundry.
We've put together a page of resources to help you find a shelter near you and get started, because sometimes showing up matters just as much as showing up with your wallet.
